SECTOR 06Electronics & High-Granularity Traceability

Shop-Floor Management from SMD Reel & Feeder Verification to AOI Inspection, Firmware Flashing and Device Assembly

In electronic board (PCBA) and precision device manufacturing, thousands of micro-components must be loaded from the right component reel onto the right pick-and-place feeder slot, moisture-sensitive devices (MSDs) must be monitored for open floor life, and every board must pass AOI, X-Ray and functional tests before final device marriage. The shop-floor architecture delivers complete component-reel-to-device traceability.

01 — 5-STEP SEQUENTIAL SHOP-FLOOR WORKFLOW

Sequential Screens from Raw Material to 3D Warehouse

In this sector, shop-floor operations progress across 5 sequential stages. At each stage, responsibilities are structured across operator cockpits, shift supervision, quality engineering and 3D spatial monitoring.

STEP 01

SMD Component Preparation, Reel-to-Feeder Verification and MSD Floor-Life Tracking

STEP 03

Automated Optical Inspection (AOI / X-Ray) and Visual Defect Classification

Scans reflowed boards in AOI and X-Ray machines, displays flagged defect coordinates on the operator review terminal, and separates true defects from false calls before routing to touch-up/rework.

03 — CUSTOM SECTOR SOLUTION MODULES

Specialized Shop-Floor Developments in This Sector

MESDEV-06.1

Component Reel ID, Feeder Slot Interlock and MSD Moisture Floor-Life Governance

Verification architecture preventing wrong component reels from being loaded onto SMD feeders and blocking expired moisture-sensitive components.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENT

Loading an incorrect component reel onto a high-speed placement machine ruins hundreds of boards within minutes, while reflowing moisture-absorbed ICs causes micro-cracking and latent field failures.

ARCHITECTURAL APPROACH

  • Assigning a unique Reel ID barcode to every component reel and verifying feeder slot vs. BOM via handheld terminal before machine start.
  • Starting an automatic floor-life countdown timer when an MSD dry-bag is unsealed and blocking reels whose exposure limit has expired until baking is completed.
  • Recording exact board serial number boundaries during on-the-fly reel splicing between old and new component lots.

OPERATIONAL VALUE

Wrong-component placement and moisture-induced soldering defects are prevented before line start.

MESDEV-06.2

AOI / Functional Test Integration and Complete Electronic As-Built Genealogy

Automated linking of optical and electrical test logs to board serial numbers and multi-level genealogy from component reel to final box-build device.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENT

When an electronic device fails in the field, identifying which component lot was placed on its internal PCBA and reviewing its factory test measurements is impossible without automated serial linkage.

ARCHITECTURAL APPROACH

  • Automated parsing of AOI, X-Ray, ICT and FCT tester log files and binding them to the board's laser-marked 2D DataMatrix serial number.
  • Marrying sub-assembly PCBA boards, display/sensor modules and flashed firmware version into a unified parent device As-Built BOM during box-build.
  • Instant containment query listing all affected board and device serial numbers within seconds if a component supplier reports a defective lot.

OPERATIONAL VALUE

A complete digital product passport is established from individual component reel batch to shipped precision device.
